Getaway to Upstate NY

December 4, 2011

I am not really into Thanksgiving… for a few simple reasons: 1. I am not American. 2. I think it is a bit odd to celebrate when the Europeans and the Indians met (as we all know, it turned violent very quickly). Just to clarify, I’m certainly not against Thanksgiving, I just don’t care too much about it… plus, I don’t eat Turkey. So there we go.

So, instead of stuffing our mouths with Turkey and Stuffing, my better half and I borrowed a car, and took a 3-day trip to Upstate New York. More specifically, our destination was: The Aurora Inn & the E. B. Morgan House.

The E. B. Morgan House has been rated to be among the Top 25 most romantic hotels in the world… holy cow, that sounds romantic! And it is. I’m posting this blog for all of you ladies who want to get away with your beloved man. This place is just perfect! We had a view to the lake from our bedroom window, and the 5-star restaurant at The Aurora Inn made us feel like a King and Queen with it’s amazing dishes and quality of food and service.

The Aurora Inn and the E. B Morgan House are not more than a 20 minute drive from Ithaca which is surrounded by beautiful state parks. We visited the Buttermilk Falls State Park and went for a beautiful hike among waterfalls and landscapes that reminded me of Disney’s Pocahontas.

Enjoy the pictures and be inspired for your next romantic trip.
